YOUR PATH TO HEALING

ABOUT US

Sand River Rehabilitation Centre was born from a desire to see people set free from the destruction addiction brings to not only the individual, but also to families and communities at large.
Our passion is people and relationships and restoring the individual back to healthy relationships and productive and purpose-driven living.
We are based on a beautiful farm 30km outside of Welkom in the Freestate, far away from the hustle and bustle of city-living, where nature and the quiet and scenic surrounds very much form part of our unique approach to rehabilitation.
With a men's house that currently only houses 6 men at a time, our approach is personal and caters to the individual needs of every resident.
We offer 30 and 90 day comprehensive rehabilitation programs rooted in the firm believe that we CAN retrain our brain and that Faith, Identity, Vision and Discipline should be the cornerstones of effective rehabilitation and purpose driven living. We are passionate about helping people not just get sober, but live fulfilling lives that positively impacts those around them.
We are a faith-based, work-based program with weekly individual counselling sessions aimed at getting to the roots of the dysfunctional behaviors.
Our 30 & 90 day detox & rehabilitation programs are focused on getting the addicted person out of their normal environment that has become the breeding ground where these dysfunctional patterns keep the person trapped in their addictive habits. Practical tools and a diligent study into purpose, design and vision is meant to ignite a desire to live meaningful lives.
A daily routine of working on the farm, Bible study, Church and fellowship serves to instill a culture where values like accountability, discipline, self-control, respect for God & authority as well as respect for self are promoted and celebrated. Learning new skills that the person can take with into their new life journey is not only practically valuable but also emotionally rewarding to their identity and sense of self-worth.
Community projects are also a strong focus in our rehabilitation program. Being solely focused on our own problems limits our view to the needs of others, but more than that we want to impart vision and purpose to the lives of our residents and believe it can only be attained within the context of community.
Although 30 and 90 day programs are considered short-term treatment options, we believe it can provide powerful jumping platforms from which real change can start. For some people that has been trapped in longer periods of active addiction or with substantial emotional dysfunctional problems, we do recommend and provide longer stay options.

Testimonials
Testimonial of Lucky Montaung
My name is Lucky Montaung and I am 25 years old and I am also recovering for the
first time at Sand River Rehabilitation Centre because of substance abuse. Well the
reasons to be here could be a lot but the most important reason is to stop breaking
my people’s hearts and if I can stop one heart from breaking surely I shall not live in
vain.. If I can ease one life the aching or cool one pain or help one fainting because
of me I shall not live in vain. When I started taking substance I hurt people who loved
me and who loved me, especially my mother, So this is not about me at all. I am
doing it for my family who love me. So when they see me again, they see a changed
person. Someone who they can look up to and who they can trust again. There is
more I can say, but my family taught me: “talking is cheap, but doing is whatis
important”
Testimonial of Khotso Adowsi
In 2019 I had bad friends that introduced me to drugs, and since then my life was
never the same again.
I was in and out of rehab centres and I’d always relapse after just a month of being
out.
My sister then took my to Sandriver Rehabilitation Centre that changed my life
forever. I think this one was different because it was a Christian based centre and it
spoke to everything I believed in.
My life has changed and I’m working on myself everyday. It is not a smooth sailing
ship I have to say but I’m more focused now and I’m not looking back to the old me.
Kind Regards
Khotso Adowsi
